What is the Firefighters Burn Treatment Society, Edmonton Chapter?
The FBTS, EC is a registered charitable organization that was formed in 1977 by Edmonton Firefighters to raise money to help provide care for burn survivors in the hospital burn unit. The FBTS, EC fundraises for the Firefighters Burn Treatment Unit 3C2 located in the Walter C. MacKenzie Health Sciences Centre in the University of Alberta Hospital. The FBTS, EC ensures that funds are available for upgrades, as necessary, to the highly specialized equipment. It also provides the burn unit health care team with opportunities to attend continuing education programs to remain current in new treatment techniques.Where is the Burn Treatment Unit?
The Firefighters Burn Treatment Unit 3C2 is located in the Walter C. MacKenzie Health Sciences Centre in the University of Alberta Hospital, located at 8440 – 112 Street, Edmonton. It is the treatment referral centre for burn survivors in Edmonton, northern Alberta and British Columbia and northwestern Saskatchewan.How can I help out or get involved?
You can make a donation to the FBTS, EC, purchase FBTS, EC merchandise or help sponsor one of our many events. Volunteers are also needed for our fundraising events throughout the year.How do I go about making a donation?

Are donations tax deductible?

Where do the funds raised or donated go?
The FBTS, EC has essentially no overhead or administrative costs and is managed and operated by firefighters who volunteer their time. At the conclusion of our annual campaign ending at calendar year-end; monies raised are presented to the Firefighters Burn Unit, University of Alberta Hospital at our Annual General Meeting and Luncheon held in spring.Where can I get a FBTS, EC calendar?
